Traveling and Plans

There is so much to see in this world that is seen anew when you take friends that have not been there.  We covered a lot of territory on our road trip.  We had more ideas than energy and speed of driving.  The idea has been born in my head that another trip should be made next summer with a little better planning.  The one next year should hit the places we wanted to see this time like White Tail in Ivor, Virginia, and PennSylvan and Sunny Rest in PA, Empire Haven in NY.

Our first stop in Serendipity showed us why they have won rewards as a friendly place.  We met up with some of the best folks there and throughly enjoyed the beautiful countryside.  This will definitely be worth more visits and the folks are welcome to stop by or join us if they are ever near Silver Springs.

The next couple of days took us site seeing in Cherokee, NC.  Next time we head west we will have to catch the resort in TN with similar name.  Kenny and Patsy made our travels towards White Thorn Lodge into more site seeing finding places and items with "Beaver" on them.  You have to ask them the significance of that.  We did not get to stay at White Thorn due to our timing but it is a place we will return to.  The folks were very friendly and helped us to make arrangements for another place to stay.  I will say trust Google Earth more than your GPS trying to locate this one.

The next major stop was Niagra Falls.  It is an awesome experience.  The crossing of the border into Canada was also an experience because they made us come in and speak to immigration.  We had a difficult time leaving Niagra and heading over to Toronto.  There is definitely room for another trip to Niagra some day.

Toronto brought us to some more beautiful scenery and some other misadventures.  This is the one place we were supposed to be on a certain day.  Luck was with us despite actually driving a few feet on the tram track.  The weather was gorgeous for the ceremony and the only real rain of the trip we were inside.

We met very nice folks at Bare Oaks also.  We were running very late which became our theme for this trip but managed to get into the room we had reserved.  The tour was quite lovely that we took the next day and would love to go back again.

Traveling across NY to reach our next destination had it's very interesting points also.  The scenery brought new things to me as well, was not used to seeing windmills other than out West.  Have you ever been driving across the countryside on a 2 lane road and saw a sign that said "hungry"?  You should stop in and allow the young man behind the counter make you some buffalo chicken tenders and fries.  We might not have been in Buffalo any more but it was an experience to remember.

I must say that the people in the naturist world are the most understanding and welcoming folks.  We were so honored to be able to see Bare Lake.  They welcomed us and showed us the property and the pictures of their duct tape regatta.  They are some of the most awesome people and if you are anywhere near Corning, NY you should join them in the endeavors.

Our time ran so short for all the places we wanted to visit.  We had to start our trip back and see what kind of adventures or misadventures we could get into.  We saw a sign for PA in 2 miles and Patsy said it would take us 30 minutes to get there and then we hit construction.  Maybe she should be a predictor.

Given how our timing had been all along the road we decided at lunch that we should call ahead and see if we would be able to get in to our next destination.  We would not be able to make it to White Tail so Avalon that we missed on the way up became a reachable goal again.  We had such an awesome time with the folks there that we almost did not leave to come home.

We are sorry that it rained all the time in Florida while we were gone.  We hit it on our final leg of the trip.  Going back to work with rain and extreme fatigue was a big challenge.  Today we had our club pot luck and the weather knew we needed another beautiful day.  All that came by had a really relaxing time and it was nice to gain some new members.

We are looking forward to Fawlty Towers and Cypress Cove in July.  Come join in our fun times.
