2017 Brings New Adventures

Posted by crossedoakshaven on February 6, 2017 at 11:05 AM Comments comments (0)

Hi,

This year promises to be different than any other.  First our leader Patti is spending a lot more time in the Freedom NV actually living in it.  Today is the first day fully living in it in Tallahassee.  The location of her first travel assignment will help with the advocacy for Nude Recreation.

The capitol is where our Lobbyist is and the location for events that will be occuring in March that will help put a face to nudists.

The conditions at Crossed Oaks Haven central are currently in fluctuation and so our normal potluck schedule there is a bit up in the air for a while.  There is some construction going on to make a new storage area and the weather is keeping the project from moving forward quickly.

There are still travel trips planned for February, March and April.  We will be at Cypress Cove for the national AANR winter meeting and Nude Nite in Orlando February 18th.  Also you will find us at Lake Como for the volleyball tournament March 3-5.  April we will enjoy spending time with the FYN members at the Spring Bash at Sunny Sands.

Currently our Solar Plunge event is looking for a new venue.  Everyone had such a great time and it was so much fun.  We are open to suggestions for a hotel or a park for a nudist event in a public location.  Email us if you have a suggestion.

Our next major event currently on the books is for our Labor Day weekend bowling.  These events are getting bigger every time so plan to come out and enjoy it.

Hope to see everyone soon for Naturally Fun Times.

Time passes without being watched

Once again I note that I have not updated our news in a few months.  Maybe my goal should be a quarterly note rather than a monthly or weekly response.

2016 brought some major changes to our group in that Patti is now working every other weekend so that there is less time for our travel trips and our potlucks.  Also there has been a new group becoming more active in Jacksonville that has kept many of our Northern members busy with activities closer to their homes.

Another hindrance to our traveling this fall has been the Freedom NV making a trip to the shop for some warranty work.

We did thoroughly enjoy our trip to Cypress Cove for Nude-a-palooza.  There was 5 different campsites rented out by our members and some also rented rooms.  Many of our members are making individual trips to events like the music festival at Eden Resort in Hudson or to the Volleyball tournament at Lake Como.  Our primary focus as a group has always been to help people to have Naturally Fun Times.

There may be more changes in the future with the group as Patti has a goal to start traveling out of state in 2017.  It is our sincere hope that we can continue to get together and share fun times.

Join us December 17th for a nature hike, January 15th for some nude bowling.  Next year we will repeat our Solar Plunge event with a few adaptations.  Let's keep with our traditions and add some new adventures like a trip to Blind Creek beach.

Let us know how you want to enjoy your Naturally Fun Times.

Exhaustion

Hi,

Just realized that we have not updated the news since our Solar Plunge event.  This is primarily because the event totally exhausted Patti and she has had an earrache since 2 days after.  We are planning our potlucks and have a bowling for January but there is no major plans right now other than some trips to other events.

Our Solar Plunge event was a huge success and you can read about it on the Facebook page for it.  We are planning to repeat it next year the second weekend in August.  At this point we have not started advertising other than keeping people informed that it will be repeated.

The labor day weekend bowling helped to restock the funds.  It is always nice to have new people at our events and for everyone to enjoy the naturally fun times.

You will find us at Cypress Cove for Nudeapalooza in October.  Our hopes are to do some other travel trips to interesting events such as Fantasy Fest.  We also hope to travel to Europe maybe taking a trip down the Danube.

We are always willing to listen to ideas and help you put them into action if able.

Contact us via email or by phone.

Solar Plunge is almost here

Feels a little like we are having a baby because it was about 9 months ago that a spur of the moment idea started.

This weekend we will give birth to the Solar Plunge.  What started as wondering if we could we are now saying we can.

What are we doing?  Over 40 rooms have been reserved at a hotel in Daytona Beach.  WE are creating a private area near the pool to have fun and skinny dip for health.  The reason we say that is because our event will be having a silent auction that will benefit a medical clinic.

There will be musical entertainment Friday night August 12th.  Pizza from Papa Johns for our construction crew.

Saturday August 13th will be our fun day.  The plan is from 12-4 to have music by a DJ at the pool.  Play water games and enjoy yourselves in a way you normally can't in Daytona.  The afternoon to evening we will have some grilling and other food.  We will probably do a photo shoot at around 3 for The Bulletin and maybe even for N magazine.

Saturday night from 8-11 PM we will enjoy music by Identity Crisis.  Come dance under the stars with your friends.

We will close out the silent Auction Saturday night 10 PM as some of our guests will not be able to stay until Sunday.

We will continue to provide our private area until Sunday at 2 PM when we will start taking down the screening.  There will be a skinny dip at 1200 for those that are still with us.

Come out and show everyone that Naturally Fun Times are good for you.

General Update

Hi,

The club has been staying active with small events.  Our April bowling was not nearly as productive as our January event but still a very fun time.  We invited the Vita Nuda group to join in the promotion and gave a discount to the younger members.  It was great to hang out with so many people at the Cove after.

Happy Mothers day to everyone.  It was nice to spend the day with my own children.

Yesterday was the first time in a while that we just went to a resort to hang out together as a group.  I have been missing that and hope that many folks will spend time with us at our upcoming trips.  Apologies to the guys that I spent most of the time reading but we did get to all enjoy the beautiful day.

I hope that many women will join in the Woman's weekend June 4th and 5th.

Keep enjoying Naturally Fun Times.

2016 is here and happening

I guess it takes me being sick and not enough energy to do much before I can catch up the website.

Our bowling was a huge success.  Look for a photo in the April bulletin.  We hope to do another around Labor Day weekend.  The Nudist Clubhouse Weekend we did not schedule for a bowling and I have not heard from Brian about any so we will just be relaxing.

Many weekends there are lots of things to choose from.  Sometimes too many choices and we can't attend all of them.  Other weekends it seems like nothing grabs our interest.  Unfortunately sometimes work schedules interfere with our choices as well.

We are hoping that with this much notice we can make our Solar Plunge project come into fruition.  It will be August 13th and 14th.  The hotel is Ocean Shores Resort and the phone number to them is 800-545-9795.  We need to book 100 rooms by July 13th or the event will not take place.  We have already spent a lot of time and money on making this happen so we are asking for everyone to spread the word.

Our calendar for the next few weeks include Nude Nite art show in Kissimmee with a stay at Cypress Cove.

February 27th will be our next club potluck.  March 11-13 we will be either going to Lake Como or Sunny Sands.  We are hoping to schedule a trip to Blind Creek and maybe to Casperson as well sometime this spring.

Solar plunge, FYN, Nude Bowling

Hi,

Wow I have neglected the site for. A bit and it is time to put it right.  The club is making some big plans and I need to work on our calendar.  I am writing this while we are hanging out at Lake Como for theFYN winter gathering.  We always have fun hanging out with the younger crowd and the lake is always beautiful and relaxing.

Let me start by explaining about Solar Plunge.  Many have probably heard about Polar Bear clubs.  What about a Solar Plunge group that is based out of Florida.  It would still be a Bare group.  Several times during the year we could meet for a group plunge.  The culmination would be to take over a hotel and have a pre-party before doing the Plunge.  There will be discounts for the hotel and it  would be small fee to come just for the party and free for just the Solar Plunge.

Now that I have you excited about 2016 let's talk about our first event which is our 5th annual Nude Bowling.  This year we are trying a different day and time.  Sunday January 17th from 12:30 until 2:30.  The cost is $20 and that is all inclusive of equipment and snacks.  They do have a bar and a 50/50 raffle will be available so bring a little extra.

Hope to see you soon forNaturally Fun Times.

Nude Bowling

Posted by crossedoakshaven on September 6, 2015 at 8:10 PM Comments comments (0)

Hi,

I came home early this weekend even though we were all having fun.  The Nude bowling was a success and it even spawned off a group dinner for 11 plus baby.  It was more difficult to get away from the pool to draw the crowd we were hoping for since the storms waited until later.

This was our first time having a Saturday bowling and I think all the advertising that the Cove gave us helped a lot in obtaining attendees.  Many people asked what the date will be for our next one.  I was thinking about how our attendance is usually a bit sketchy in January and am considering maybe November or December?  What time of day works better?  When the Cove sponsors it they do it late at night in the middle of the week.  Do you want Friday night?  I could also ask about other times I hope.

I always get energized when we are together as a group at resorts.

Please join us again for Naturally Fun Times.

Summer has been flying by

Well July was here and gone and we were busy.  Now August is almost gone as well and September promises to be very much the same.

Normally this blog describes all the things that we have done and a look to the future so that folks can keep up with everything going on.  Maybe this one will focus a little more on our concepts and the future events.

Concepts such as the CAN WE ideas.  Our group did very well with attendance to the event we tried to create and also enjoyed the benefits of discounts at Cypress Cove.  The event itself  in no way turned out the way we had hoped.  That being said is why we should talk about the future.

We are hoping that some more brain storms can be made to have a real event or host booths at several events.  The club expended some funding to make cards that we handed out, also some purchases of signs and a cooler as well as water, gator ade and snacks, neck wallets and a charger for using at events.  This money was donated and we pretty much utilized all of it to make our purchases.

We will probably give out more neck wallets at our Nude Bowling September 5.  This is our next event and we are hopeful that it will be bigger and better than ever before with it being afternoon instead of evening.  In keeping with our concept of showing others how much fun being a nudist is everyone should try to bring someone that has never been "exposed" to nudism.

September will bring our Anniversary party on 12th.  This year we will be different and utilize Patti's house rather than Sunny Sands.  This is because most of the time the group does not stay into the evening and we tend to have more of our group for short periods rather than all at once.

We will also be going on a bus trip late in September.  It is nice to not have to find a place to park at The Beaches.  We could forgo the beach trip and go to Cedar Creek for nudestock, would take a vote and use that information to change our venue to what ever the majority rules.

One of our projects will take place in October.  Have you ever wanted to see what Fantasy Fest is like?  Have you ever wanted to go on a cruise?  How about doing both at the same time?  We have 3 rooms booked on Majesty of the Seas and will be in Key West for 8 Hours during fantasy fest.  Would love to bring along someone artistic to do the painting etc. to make us look good while we walk down the street.  Of course we may just pay for a painter after we enjoy Dante's or Garden of Eden.

Trying to write attempt 2

Posted by crossedoakshaven on July 11, 2015 at 9:20 PM Comments comments (0)

I started to write this note earlier and computer keyboard slipped up and it disappeared somewhere.

Time today to take a walk back down memory lane to let you know what we have been up to.  We have been staying busy despite a few stressors added into the mix.

In May we took a bus trip with other clubs to Playalinda.  It was nice to be able to have others do the driving.  Though we may have spent a good amount of time at the beach it seemed much shorter without all the stress of parking.  I am sure it will be available again in the future for about $30 per person.

After the beach trip we returned to Sunny Sands for some fun Karaoke with all the people that stayed after running in the 5 K.  It is great to enjoy the entertainment of the resorts.

June took us to Suwanee Valley for the summer meeting of FLAANR.  The business of getting new officers and new board members was very short.  There was a lot fo talk about the beach initiatives and also about the CAN WE project that we have been organizing.

We returned to Sunny Sands for a very fun Fish Fry.  It has only been a few weeks and today brought us back to Sunny Sands to join in the world record skinny dip.  We think there was about 37 people in the pool.  It was great to get out to relax some.

Most of the time our activities are taking a group to events.  We also create a few events such as our Nude bowling .  (September 5th will be the next one.)  This year we are attempting a bigger event with our CAN WE project.

We hope to continue doing all these things and many more.
